Many students who continue their college education prefer living in dormitories to living in houses. Why do students live in dormitories? What are the advantages and disadvantages of living in dormitories? The answers to these questions need to be discussed.

Living in a dormitory has several advantages for students. To begin with, students can learn to live with other students and understand the value of friendships. If they get on well with each other, even when their education finishes, they want to live in the same house. Another benefit of living in a dormitory is that students can learn adaptation to hard living conditions. Because they learn to live in difficult conditions, they do not give up easily.

Living in a dormitory has some benefits, but it should not be forgotten it has also some drawbacks. One disadvantage of it is that students cannot take their families’ support because they live hundreds of kilometres away from their families. Therefore, they can stay alone. Another bad thing about living in a dormitory for students is that dormitory conditions cannot be good. Students have to share their rooms and also bathrooms with other students. If the rooms are too crowded, they cannot do what they want to do in rooms.

As it can be seen, living in a dormitory has some pros and cons. Students should know these advantages and disadvantages before they start to live in dormitories. Therefore, they can decide if they want to live in dormitories.
